Looking for a fun, pet-safe costume for your good little ghoul or goblin? Dress your pet up in spooky style this year with these easy-to-make Halloween pet costumes. *Important: Don’t let your fun Halloween trick-or-treat costume turn into a fur-ightful trip to the emergency vet. Make sure that your pet’s costume isn’t too tight or constricting, and ensure there’s nothing dangly or loose that your pet can ingest.* ## Chia Pet Halloween costume for pets **![Chia Pet_1](https://companionpetmagazine.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Chia%20Pet_1.jpg?width=1200&name=Chia%20Pet_1.jpg)** Materials: - Orange, brown, or dark green felt - Bushy-looking faux plants or plastic aquarium plants - T-shirt or dog sweater - Fabric glue How to: 1. Use the felt and fabric glue or adhesive and wrap (not too tightly) around each leg to create a terracotta plant look. 2. Using an old dog sweater or a t-shirt that has been fitted around your pet’s body, glue the plastic plants over the fabric, making sure to cover the entire fabric to create a bushy look. *Don’t glue on the plants while the dog is wearing the garment! * 3. If using hot glue, make sure the costume has completely cooled down before putting it on your pet. ## Beanie Baby pet Halloween costume **![Beanie_2](https://companionpetmagazine.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Beanie_2.jpg?width=1200&name=Beanie_2.jpg)** Materials: - Printer - 2 pieces of 8.5" x 11” card stock printer paper - 1 piece of 8.5” x 11” printer paper - Glue - Red ribbon - Hole punch How to: 1. Print this [Beanie Baby template full size](https://assets.ctfassets.net/vv3ti973ux47/15UgVhjtfnxXswVqS7rpoF/3e4624a7e3df5c6deabc3aedaeca136c/f52ac8_b2e1b3f7f5b14ecf8a73e2931619dbd9.pdf) and cut it out. Add your pet’s information to the inside of the tag. 2. Using the hole punch, punch a hole in the upper inside left corner of the heart tag, on the same page as your pet’s info. 3. Thread the red ribbon through the punched hole and tie to your pet’s collar. Cut off the foot portion of the sock so you're left with the ankle fabric. 2. Using the leggings, gauze or socks, pull one up on each leg. 3. Pull on the tutu up to your pet’s waist. 4. Place tiara on head or tie hair bows. ## Pirate Halloween costume for pets Materials: - Child’s striped t-shirt - Child’s pirate hat - Elastic stretch band How to: 1. Pull on the t-shirt and check collar to make sure it isn’t too tight around your pet’s neck. If so, loosen it by cutting a “v” line with your scissors in the front-center neckline. 2. A pirate hat, found at arts and crafts stores like Michaels, may already come with a stretchy band attached. Pull on the t-shirt and check collar to make sure it isn’t too tight around your pet’s neck. If so, loosen it by cutting a “v” line with your scissors in the front-center neckline. 2. Using the fabric tape, pull up the hanging ends of the t-shirt near your dog’s belly and secure by taping each side upward so it no longer hangs open. 3.
