Between bunny-themed baskets, Sunday picnics and traditional dinner spreads, Easter is a feasting holiday for the whole family. While many of the things we love about Easter can be unhealthy for pets—some are outright dangerous, in fact—these fun DIY snacks are a great way to include your pets in the holiday celebration.

Easter recipes for cats
Chicken and carrot bites
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup cooked chicken (shredded)
- 1/4 cup grated carrots
- 1/4 cup oat flour
- 1 egg
Directions:
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
- Mix all ingredients in a bowl until well combined.
- Form the mixture into bite-sized balls.
- Place the balls on a baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes or until they are firm.
- Allow treats to cool before giving them to your cat.
Tuna Easter treats for cats
Ingredients:
- 1 can of tuna in water (drained)
- 1 egg
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- Water (as needed)
- Easter-themed (or any shape) cookie cutter
Directions:
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
- Blend the tuna until smooth.
- In a bowl, combine the blended tuna, egg and flour.
- Add water as needed to form a dough.
- Roll out the dough and cut it into small shapes (you can use an Easter-themed cookie cutter).
- Place the treats on a baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes or until they are firm.
- Let the treats cool before serving them to your cat.
Easter recipes for dogs
Dog-friendly Easter eggs
Ingredients:
- 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
- 1/2 cup peanut butter (make sure it's xylitol-free)
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 cup carob chips (optional)
- Egg-shaped (or any shape) silicone mold
Directions:
- Mix the Greek yogurt, peanut butter and honey in a bowl until well combined.
- If using carob chips, melt them and drizzle over the mixture.
- Pout the mixture into silicone egg molds.
- Freeze for at least 2 hours or until solid.
- Pop the treats out of the molds and let your pup enjoy!
Carrot cake for dogs
Ingredients:
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1/4 cup applesauce
- 1/2 cup grated carrots
- 1 egg
Directions:
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
- In a bowl, mix the flour and baking soda.
- Add the vegetable oil, applesauce, grated carrots and egg.
- Mix until well combined.
- Pour the batter into a greased cake pan.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool before serving it to your dog.
