Treat your cat with these tasty tuna delights

December is National Cat Lover's Month. To honor the beauty, smarts and sass of our feline friends, we’re spotlighting a delectable delight that’s just for kitties.

Show your cat how much you care with a yummy treat they’ll love. Here’s a quick how-to video to get you started:

Please note: This recipe makes A LOT of treats. You may consider cutting the recipe in half for your first try!

Yield: About 18 treats
Time: 15-20 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 cup low-sodium canned tuna in oil, drained (save the oil)
  • 1 tsp vegetable oil
  • 2 cups breadcrumbs
  • 2 eggs (beaten)

Directions

  1. Lightly grease a baking sheet
  2. Mix ingredients in bowl until mixture is crumbly but flexible
  3. Roll into small balls (about size of a penny) and line up on the baking sheet
  4. Bake 10 minutes at 350° F
  5. Allow to cool before serving

Tuna treats should be stored in an airtight container for immediate, short-term consumption.

Remember to always check with your veterinarian before making changes to your cat's diet!
